- Rule 1: Respect others feelingsIt is also the basic law that a better human character follows in his real life. Stand up for yourself, but do not try to hurt the feelings of people. It's easy to mis-interpret your correspondent's conversation online with more or less like your own feelings
- Rule 2: Adhere to the online standards Law is law, irrespective of the situation! Both real-life and cyberspace are similar, breaking cyberspace law is also a criminal act. Maintaining cyber hygiene will help you in avoiding messy situations online.
- Rule 3: Know your cyberspace Netiquette is different in different places, understanding where you are is also important as your purpose. When you enter a domain of cyberspace take a look around to get a sense of danger Rule 4: Respect other people's workhiding in the shadow.
- Rule 4: Respect other people's work It’s a fact that, even with advance technology people don’t have sufficient time to meet their needs in this fast-moving world. If you accidentally post the same post repeatedly, it's a waste of bandwidth and time for those who refer to it. You are responsible enough to ensure what you’re posting will not affect others time.
- Rule 5: Follow good online behaviour As in real life when you are in cyberspace always be gentle and polite, don’t use offensive language. Bad information spreads like a wildfire on the net.
- Rule 6: Expert information exchange The Web itself was created and established because experts wanted to share knowledge. Now, it's up to us to raise those smart and honest questions. Sharing will always improve awareness.
- Rule 7: Avoid online flame wars Share a strongly held view without holding back any feelings makes people respond to your statement. Arguments could be a lot of fun, both writing and reading but always keep your arguments low, netiquette doesn’t encourage flame wars.
- Rule 9: Avoid misusing of power Knowing more than others, or possessing more control than they do, does not give you the right to take advantage of it. For example, system admins should never read private emails, because it is only meant to recipient. Penetrating into others personal zone is a violation of privacy.
- Rule 10: Be polite in pointing out people's mistakes Everyone is a newbie once in a lifetime, and errors are part of human nature and human development. So always keep an open mind and forgive the errors of others. Most importantly, keep in mind that the human being is behaving on the other side of the equation. So, you're kind to do your part.
